We seek to enhance our Financial Services team in Kennett Square with a role specializing in derivative process management for interest rate, foreign currency, and equity transactions for our growing base of financial services clients. The role is a key part of our solutions team and is charged with the daily processing of new and amended derivative contracts, affirming payments, and initiating collateral transfers in proprietary and third-party systems.

In this role you will:

You will be joining the Operations Team for our Financial Service clients. The purpose of the role is to manage the day-to-day operations of our clients’ derivative books and to continuously improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of our operations as we serve clients with excellence. We expect primary responsibilities to include:

  • Facilitate daily collateral management processes across client base
  • Process outgoing and incoming margin calls efficiently, accurately, and within deadlines
  • Resolve disputes on margin calls and settlements
  • Identify and facilitate collateral optimization opportunities
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide transparency to clients on status of margin calls
  • Prepare reports and end-of-day summaries for clients
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on third-party collateral management systems
  • Collaborate and build relationships with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors
  • Hedge documentation review
  • Review derivative trade documentation for accuracy by comparing bank documentation with our transaction records; assess both economic terms and other provisions
  • Coordinate with bank back-office groups and foster strong working relationships to improve processes and accuracy
  • Manage the tracking and internal reporting of transaction operations including outstanding documentation, amendment requests, and trade populations
  • Manage additional operations processes across client base
  • Load transaction details and documents into transaction management databases
  • Assist clients to ensure their trade settlements are affirmed with the banks and that the funds flow properly
  • Prepare and review time-sensitive month-end control reports across valuations, trade populations and data capture accuracy

The role may also include opportunities to contribute to Chatham in other capacities as interests and team needs align. 

Your impact:

 In this role, you will help clients navigate post-trade operational aspects of their transactions. With your high-quality work, you will help improve controls over the accuracy and completeness of our clients’ derivative portfolios, which is critical to the accuracy and speed of downstream business processes like valuations and accounting. The insights you gain as you manage client derivative portfolio operations will inform Chatham’s development teams of business requirements to improve workflows and influence the technology, we build to increase scale and efficiencies. Team members play a crucial role in these process improvements and serve as subject matter experts, providing regular training and resources for broader Chatham teams.

 Contributors to your success:

 2 years of experience in managing and organizing documents, trade operations, operational process improvement or collateral management is preferred

  • An interest in operational process management and improvement
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization is required
  • Ability to multitask and independently prioritize workload in a fast-paced and high-volume role
  • Working knowledge of OTC Derivative products (interest rate derivatives) is a plus, but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-driven to learn new areas of expertise
