The opportunity

We are currently seeking individuals for a full-time position in our inaugural fulfillment centers, with a focus on ICQA (Inventory Control and Quality Assurance). As an ICQA and Continuous Improvement Manager, you will play a crucial role in launching and operating our fulfillment centers by ensuring efficient inventory management, maintaining high quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

As a key member of the Flexport team, you will serve as a people leader, responsible for managing a team on the operating floor. Your main objective will be to optimize the ICQA process, utilizing advanced tools, methodologies, and data analytics to ensure accurate inventory tracking, timely inspections, and quality control. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

This is an on-site role in Lewisville, TX.

You will

  • ICQA Operations and Quality Assurance:
    • Support safety programs and compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
    • Coordinate inventory control maintenance and random counts in accordance with network count strategies, ensuring compliance and consistency with SOX regulations.
    • Measure quality, inventory integrity, and accuracy while providing proactive feedback to the operations management team.
    • Review and analyze customer complaints and defect data, followed by developing action plans to reduce future incidents.
    • Plan for and identify root causes of inventory deviation through cause and effect analysis.
    • Participate in and lead network-wide fulfillment and operations-focused quality initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive process improvements and implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
    • Lead and manage cross-functional continuous improvement projects, collaborating with various department managers.
    • Analyze data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and process metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize operational performance.
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to ensure consistent and efficient ICQA processes.
    • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of technology solutions to improve inventory control and quality assurance.
  • Team Management and Development:
    • Lead and manage a team of area managers and hourly associates in ICQA operations within the fulfillment center.
    • Drive team performance, employee development, and engagement.
    • Motivate and mentor team members

You should have

  • Demonstrated solid proficiency in time management skills, alongside confidence in organizing vast amounts of data
  • Proven ability to influence, with varying levels of seniority within an organization
  • You’re highly dependable and able to manage business functions that can operate 24/7 (including holidays): you manage time efficiently to get the job done,
  • A resilient, focused problem solver and self-starter, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a complex and occasionally ambiguous environment
  • Strong commitment to employee development, as well as an exceptional level of dedication, motivation and intelligence
  • Previous supervisory experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in the local language and in English

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in a science or logistics-based discipline, with a strong bias towards analytics and data would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting functions, with a grasp of how inventory and accounts relate to each other
  • Background in a logistics, distribution or similar environment
  • Previous Inventory Control and Quality Assurance Management experience
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and techniques
  • Experience working with SQL, creating and running reports is a plus
