The role

GoCardless is searching for an engineer with Ruby experience and a strong interest in securing our infrastructure and helping automate processes. 

You will be a member of a distributed team working closely with the privacy and security engineering, security operations and core-infrastructure teams. 

You will own the solutions that you and your team are delivering. We are passionate about the work we do. We are here to build a global payments network and to revolutionise the way financial institutions control access to our personal data.

What excites you 

We use a wide range of technologies, and will never expect you to have experience with all of them. We do hope that you are enthusiastic about the infrastructure space and the impact your work can have on others. To enjoy this work you’ll be excited by:

  • Automating security testing, vulnerability scanning and compliance checks as part of the CI/CD pipeline to ensure secure and reliable software delivery
  • Designing and implementing a variety of services, tools and libraries to achieve the team's goals
  • Collaborating with security teams, infrastructure and development to implement security best practices into the SDLC and DevOps processes
  • Continuously evaluating and recommending improvements to security controls, processes and technologies, to enhance organisation’s maturity and security posture
  • Previous experience with Ruby programming language and with Terraform automation tooling will be considered an advantage
