About The Role

As the Director of Business Development, you’ll join the team transforming the Commercial function at Syapse and transform your career in the process. You’ll leverage your deep knowledge of our client’s business, science, or both to accelerate or even launch your Business Development career. You’ll dive into the Commercial process from end to end. You’ll grow in all Commercial disciplines including ground-level prospecting, outreach, proposal development, pricing, and contracting. Utilizing your domain expertise and leveraging our experienced team and unique blend of deep data and comprehensive understanding of the cancer patient journey, you’ll learn to guide strategic discussions with future partners and deliver consistent commercial success for Syapse.

Like all positions at Syapse, this position is located remotely, but this role will require moderate travel to client sites, conferences, events, etc.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Exceed revenue goals by landing and growing new accounts
  • Learn to execute the entire sales process from prospecting through close
  • Assist in development of strategic account plans helping with and/or leading needed analysis and work
  • Develop expertise on Syapse’s capabilities and offerings and how they interact with industry trends and competitive landscape 
  • Lead outreach to key customers and identify new opportunities for business
  • Create layered relationships with our clients, building multiple champions across company stakeholders
  • Quarterback proposal development internally and externally, leveraging our wealth of internal expertise
  • Support efficient contract negotiations to close business

 

About You: 

  • Deep Expertise In Our Client’s Business: You’ve spent years building domain expertise in one of the following areas: 
    • Epidemiology or Real World Data research (Ph.D. preferred)
    • Life Sciences Consulting 
    • Clinical Oncology Practice
    • Pharmaceutical or Regulatory Industry Operations
  • High BioPharma Business Acumen. You can quickly connect the dots between our client’s scientific needs and the relevant solutions and offerings. You should be able to converse in depth with Biopharma researchers and build a strong understanding of how complex matrixed decisions are made in the Life Sciences industry. 
  • Attitude is Everything. You’re a dive in head first, no quit, energetic, entrepreneurial, default to do vs. delegate go getter. You bring that highly self-driven, creative problem-solver attitude with a sense of urgency towards everything you do.
  • Own The Room.  Whether in writing, on video, or in person, you blend executive presence and presentation skills with a credibility that gains the trust of scientific clients.

Compensation: 

The target base salary for this position is $150,000-180,000 + Commission.

This base salary is only a part of a total compensation package that includes: a generous performance driven incentive program, benefits, 401k with match, flexible PTO and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range as a number of factors including market forces, experience, location, disparities in market data and other relevant business considerations may  all factor into final compensation.
