The Sales Manager will lead activities to identify, facilitate, establish, develop, and close opportunities to create and grow business partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, other related companies, and academic institutes in the implementation of Twist’s Synthetic Biology and Variant Library technologies. With a predominant focus on, not limited to, the fields of synthetic biology, antibody, protein engineering, drug development, cellular and immunotherapy, and assisting in biopharma products and services.

 

The Sales Manager will be responsible for delivering revenue and driving growth in their territory for Twist Bioscience Synthetic Biology and Variant Library products. The individual is accountable for delivering accurate revenue forecasts throughout the fiscal year, enabling the executive team to monitor business performance and drive decision-making. The individual is required to maintain knowledge of competitor products and their commercial strategies, identifying and escalating their activities in a time-bound manner. The individual is also accountable for providing customer feedback on Twist Bioscience products in addition to identifying unmet customer needs that will enable the development of new and innovative products.

 

The Sales Manager will be based in South Korea, reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, South Korea.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Generate, drive, and secure a continuous deal flow of library/ synthetic biology sales and antibody and drug development solution contracts with collaborators and partners that will lead to high-value commercial agreements.
  • Prospect and generate leads of potential customers, collaborators, and partners that will generate revenues from Synthetic Biology and Variant Libraries.
  • Solicit and pitch Twist capabilities (presentations), competencies, and offerings (with the support of Twist scientific resources) to strategically important potential new collaborators and partners.
  • Develop and manage key relationships with new and existing customers at multiple organizational levels.
  • Work collaboratively with Twist’s Channel Partners in South Korea to develop both direct and indirect business. Through consultative and strategic planning and portfolio selling to deliver high-end solutions to our customers.
  • Support, maintain, and grow current and newly entered customer relationships, collaborations, and partnerships in an alliance management role to foster satisfied, customer-focused development and/or commercial partnerships.
  • Develop strong working relationships with subject matter experts throughout Twist Biopharma and Twist Bioscience; assign and coordinate tasks to more qualified co-workers involved in the pursuit of each opportunity.
  • Develop market research to identify potential customers, collaborators, and partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, commercial and related industry organizations, and companies of a non-competitive business.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap of all potential customers, collaborators, and partnerships to maintain a healthy, growing and diversified revenue pipeline.
  • Attain quarterly and annual revenue targets established from annual commission plans.
  • Deliver accurate and timely forecasts for their territory.
  • Develop contingency and risk mitigation plans for their region as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with operations to minimize time to revenue.
  • Maintain CRM database with up-to-date information
  • Represent the company at relevant tradeshows.
  • Maintain and raise awareness of the competitive landscape, provide customer feedback and introduce new product ideas to internal partners.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S) from a four-year college or university, preferred in Biology or a similar field.
  • Proven track record of delivering financial targets on a quarterly and annual basis
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in selling life science reagents and solutions. Knowledge of synthetic biology products and markets is preferred.
  • Business-to-business experience preferred, in particular, selling to pharma, chemical and/or Agbio organizations.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of synthetic biology applications utilizing synthetic genes, pathways and organisms a necessity.
  • A background in technical sales and support is preferred.
  • Salesforce experience required
