The Account Executive is responsible for driving eProcurement integrations for our B2B punchout platform/eCommerce experience between buyers, suppliers, and partners for Twist Bioscience gene synthesis products. (S)he is accountable for delivering smooth, speedy integration for customers.  (S)he is required to maintain knowledge of competitor products and their commercial strategies, identifying and escalating their activities in a time bound manner. (S)he is also accountable for providing customer feedback on Twist Bioscience products in addition to identifying unmet customer needs that will enable the development of new and innovative products.




Responsibilities

  • Active lead prospecting and demand generation by researching and identifying new business opportunities across multiple segments of customers.
  • Understand and present the Twist punchout catalog value proposition and competitive differentiators internally and externally through innovative solution presentations, proposals, demonstrations, webinars and through other channels 
  • Define and present value creation models for the existing and new customer that may be delivered through a Twist punchout catalog
  • Collaboration with internal/external teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions by demonstrating a full understanding of their business needs, and technical requirements.  
  • Identify and foster relationships that provide direct access to executive level decision makers and key stakeholders across the business, IT and procurement teams
  • Navigate complex sales cycles, communicate contextual value propositions, negotiate key contracts and annual renewals
  • Collaborate with the engagement / professional services team to ensure effective scoping and smooth project and implementation hand-off.
  • Collaborate with the sales and account management teams to build out commercial proposition aligned to strategy and relevant business case.
  • Create and deliver technology demonstrations, presentations, and tailored proof-of-concepts / pilots.
  • Provide technical support to Marketing on Regional Workshops, Customer User Group Meetings, Sales Seminars and Trade Shows
  • Frequent, short-term travel

Experience

  • 3+ years selling enterprise software or data management applications, preferably Saas
  • Knowledge of life sciences R&D, either through industry experience, or, academia.  B.S. Preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of cXML, punchout/hosted catalogs, and integration workflow for popular eProcurement platforms like Jaggaer, Ariba, Coupa, etc. preferred
  • A proven ability to understand and communicate with all key players from Procurement and Finance & Accounting departments involved, including CPO, Category Management, Supplier / Contract Management, CFO, Accounts Payable, and Operations personnel
  • Solid technical aptitude and knowledge of software, networking information technologies, essential
  • Ability to work collaboratively under pressure and manage priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Proactive, independent thinker with high energy and a positive attitude
  • Demonstrable history of consistently achieving or exceeding ambitious sales targets by driving top line revenue and complex expansions
  • Dynamic communication skills and the versatility to connect effectively with a range of stakeholders, including scientists, team project leads and executives in industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to execute and close multi-million dollar contracts

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S) from four year college or university in Biology or similar field.

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.
