Local Initiatives Support Corporation

LISC is one of the country’s largest community development organizations, helping forge vibrant, resilient communities across America. We work with residents and partners to close systemic gaps in health, wealth and opportunity and advance racial equity so that people and places can thrive. We do this by acting as a conduit for grants, loans and equity--and by providing technical assistance and capacity building--to locally rooted organizations that carry out the work in communities. Join us.

 What We Do

Over the last 40 years, LISC and its affiliates have invested approximately $26 billion in affordable housing, small business, health, economic mobility, community and recreational facilities, public safety and other projects that help revitalize and stabilize underinvested communities. Headquartered in New York City, LISC has 38 offices spanning the country from Buffalo to the Bay Area as well as partnerships in 2,400 rural counties across 49 states and Puerto Rico.

Our Dedication to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice

At LISC, we work every day up to realize our commitment to racial equity in our communities and society, and to become a more antiracist organization. We embrace and uplift equity, diversity and inclusion across all races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, abilities and geographies. We are committed to creating and supporting spaces and resources—both internally and externally—to help ensure that each person can thrive in their own identities, circumstances and histories, with the goal of upending disparities so we can all prosper and live with dignity.
