The role:

We are looking for a licensed Collaborating Psychiatrist to support our mission in improving access to high-quality mental health care! In this role, you will function as a collaborating supervisor for our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in applicable states.

This position is a 1099 independent contractor role estimated at 5-15 hours per month, depending on the number of NPs you’re collaborating with.

Who you are:

  • Hold an active MD/DO license in good standing in Alabama, Georgia and/or California. 
  • National Board Certification as a Psychiatrist
  • Strong clinical background within Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine
  • Mental Health experience and a minimum of 2+ years’ experience
  • Maintain a strong evidence-based clinical skill set while practicing & implementing outcome-focused care
  • Empathetic and intuitive listening
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Knowledgeable in crisis response
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a telemedicine environment
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate various systems & tools with ease (this includes, but is not limited to Google Workspace, proprietary EMR, etc.)
  • Passionate about our mission of improving access to high-quality mental health care
  • An entrepreneurial spirit or previous experience within a startup or fast-paced environment is preferred

How your skills and passion will come to life at Cerebral:

  • Ensure the most beneficial level of treatment is implemented for our clients
  • Work collaboratively with the PMHNP team and conduct patient chart audits on a monthly basis
  • Conduct a minimum of three patient chart audits per month per nurse practitioner that you are supervising; requirements will vary based on states regulations
  • Hold a monthly 1-hour office hour (or two 30-minute sessions) for designated nurse practitioners
  • Evaluate and assess that proper documentation and appropriate interventions are being implemented
  • Fulfill any state-specific requirement as a collaborator (attendance in meetings, etc.) 
  • Must be clinically strong, function autonomously and competently, and utilize critical thinking skills to provide appropriate triage care
  • Each nurse practitioner that you supervise will roughly be an hour of work per individual per month (must abide by state rules and regulations)
  • Create your own flexible schedule based on your individual availability! Scheduled time must fall within the hours of 6:00am to 11:30pm per your specific timezone
