Electrical Engineer - Taipei/Hsinchu, Taiwan

Summary

Alarm.com is seeking an Electrical Engineer to apply their technical know-how and commitment to quality to circuit design, review PCB placement, and layout, provide BoMs, hardware testing and debugging, CE/FCC EMC testing and certification. As part of a small, hardworking and accomplished team of experts, you will directly support our success and act as a key technical interface between the product development engineering teams and our manufacturing value-added partners. As an electrical engineer, you need to communicate with the design teams and manufacturing processes, smoothly transfer design to each production phase.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electronic Engineering
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Imaging-related hardware design. Experience in CM/ODM project development completion. Proficient in using Altium Designer and Orcad PC tools. Familiar with low voltage AC and DC/DC power circuits and Wi-Fi & RF hardware design. CE/FCC EMC Testing and certification
  • Professional language proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Ability for as needed pan-Asian and US travel
  • Proven records of Imaging-related hardware design & production.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in selecting the unit costs of electronic, mechanical and electromechanical components.
  • Knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes including SMT, DIP, assembly, testing and costing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in various application software such as Excel and PowerPoint for effective communication on subject matters with various stakeholders.
  • Professional written, verbal, and presentation skills in English and in Chinese with the ability to effectively communicate with the stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of quality, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Duties to be Performed

  • Develop HW circuits based on product requirements. Work with layout and mechanical engineers on PCB layout/layout and review Hardware verification/debugging and certification CE/FCC.
  • Work with Test Engineers and Product Managers to review the entire production system and all production related documents to ensure that they are ready to be handed over to manufacturing partners.
  • Coordinate with Test Engineers and Quality Engineers to validate and to ensure the manufacturing environment and production setup across the entire production system at the manufacturing site are constructed according to the requirements and are ready for production.
  • Other duties as assigned.
