As the Data Governance Manager for Betsson's newly established Data Governance team, Primary responsibility includes not only spearheading the implementation but also the strategic development and continuous enhancement of a comprehensive end-to-end Data Governance framework, spanning the entirety of the Betsson data landscape from data sources to data platform and consumers.
KPIs for the Data Governance Team:
- Enable users to effortlessly discover and access data within the organization.
- Improve data literacy by providing detailed information about the data's lineage, processing, and quality metrics.
- Establish trusted data with enhanced accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Implement access controls and data classification to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorized access or breaches.
A taster of what you will be involved with:
Data Governance Framework and Policies:
- Develop, enforce, and continuously update robust data governance frameworks and policies to ensure comprehensive coverage across the organization.
- Take ownership of the entire Data Governance process for Betsson, serving as a leader in driving best practices and adherence throughout the organization.
Data Governance Council and Best Practices:
- Establish and chair a Data Governance Council, promoting a culture that views data as a critical business asset.
- Manage, enhance, and continuously assess data quality across the Company, implementing data monitoring and quality metrics, implementing regular reviews and re-scoring procedures.
- Develop and standardize best practices for data quality, security, and lineage, collaborating with the Information Security (InfoSec) team.
- Work closely with Betsson’s compliance department to ensure all data practices adhere to regulatory requirements, focusing on data protection regulations and privacy, including monitoring compliance with data protection regulations, conducting audits, providing guidance on data handling practices, developing strategies for safeguarding customer data, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and addressing data privacy concerns.
Data Governance Tools and Assets:
- Oversee and manage Data Governance tools, ensuring effective assessment of data availability, quality, usability, and integrity.
- Take full ownership of the selection and implementation of Data Governance tools, ensuring their end-to-end functionality and optimization.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of the Betsson Data Assets e-store, ensuring it includes comprehensive data quality assessments and use cases.
- Conduct periodic and systematic reviews of data pipelines to ensure efficiency, compliance, and improvement.

This role requires a dynamic and visionary individual with a proven track record of successfully designing and implementing enterprise-level Data Governance initiatives, exceptional leadership skills, expertise in data quality management, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain Betsson's Data Governance standards and practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing end-to-end enterprise-level data governance programs.
- Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing teams and cross-departmental collaborations.
- Expertise and experience in data quality management, data security laws, and regulations, including GDPR.
- Experience with defining requirements, selecting and implementing Data Governance tools for Data Platforms running on AWS and Snowflake.
- Ability to work effectively with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to foster support, collaboration and the desired mindset.
- Excellent strategic thinking, with the ability to plan and execute data governance strategies incrementally based on business priorities.
- Data Governance Certifications like CDMP and DGSP.
