As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers tasked with setting up, maintaining and optimizing our Kubernetes platform and Event streaming Technologies. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in Kubernetes, Event streaming technologies, AWS, Terraform, Git workflows, and a deep understanding of DevOps principles.
A taster of what you will be involved with
- Technical Leadership: As the Team Lead, you will provide technical expertise and guidance to the team and introduce automation where possible to increase velocity. Supporting the engineers in implementing, and maintaining the managed systems.
- Team Management: You will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of engineers and technicians, including providing performance feedback, conducting regular one-on-one meetings, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- You will also be responsible for resource planning, workload allocation, and ensuring that team members have the necessary skills and tools to perform their duties effectively.
- Collaboration: As the Team Lead, you will collaborate with other teams and stakeholders, such as DevOps, network engineers, security teams, and application developers, to ensure seamless integration and operation
- As a team lead you will be responsible to ensure Infrastructure-as-code practices are being followed while supporting company’s vision to transition from On premise workload to Cloud native workloads.
- You will be expected to form part of a 24/7 on call roster to support your engineering team during out of office incidents calls
- Automation: Drive automation initiatives using Terraform, Git workflows, and other DevOps tools to streamline deployment processes and improve operational efficiency.
You're good at
- Experience or familiar of working with Kubernetes and cluster administration, preferably with experience with AWS EKS, Rancher RKE or in alternative Google Cloud GKE, or Azure AKS.
- Strong knowledge and experience of managing Kafka infrastructure, administration, and configuration.
- Experience of working with and managing distributed messaging systems, like multiple Kafka clusters.
- Managing Cloud Infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with a good understanding of terraform modules.
- Experience working with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and familiar with Cloud provider services, EC2, ALBs, VPC, EKS etc.
- Experience in building systems that scale is required
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Immutable Deployments
- Familiarity with the open-source monitoring stack of Prometheus/Grafana/Loki/Jaeger.
- Ability to write scripts in Python, Bash, Powershell or similar
- Good LINUX / UNIX background
- Strong analytical / problem solving skills
- 24×7 business and On-call support
