ROLE DESCRIPTION

The role offers an opportunity to advise and implement a strategic change programme with one of the leading financial institutions in the world across its key Banking functions in Asia.

The objective of the project is to implement a new Data Management policy, in order to mitigate data risks. The financial institution is in progress of reviewing its important Business Services and offerings to implement adequate data monitoring and controls for their most important data. We are looking for experienced Business Analysts, Data Analysts and hybrid practitioners to:

· Review Business Services across key lines of business and regulatory reporting processes

· Catalogue and map important data utilised across key processes

· Define and operationalise data monitoring and controls requirements in line with Bank’s Data Management policy

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Conduct review workshops of Banking processes with subject matter experts

· Document applications and systems used in processes using Business Analysis tooling:

  • MS PowerPoint
  • MS Visio
  • MS Excel

· Catalogue and define most important data processed by applications associated with important Business Services and regulatory reports

· Perform data attribute and data glossary mapping using Data Governance tooling, e.g. Collibra

· Document Business Process data controls, IT controls, DQ rules and DQ controls

· Support Key Business Stakeholders in digesting the final documentation of overall data control landscape and drive decisions on future improvements

· Recommend areas for change and then provide support to the business as the changes develop to ensure continuous improvement

· Collaborate with all parts of the Banking and Capital Markets businesses including Front, Middle and Back Office functions

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Manage stakeholder relationships across Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Capital Markets and Regulatory Reporting Functions in Asia

· Produce high-quality deliverables based on:

  • Documentation analysis
  • Interview-style workshops

· Work to a project plan and raise issues on timely basis

 

The preferred candidate will:

· Be a self-motivator working in a team of Capco and client colleagues

· Be good at problem solving

· Be comfortable working closely with stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) to perceive new and better ways of working

· Be adaptable and able to work across multiple projects in parallel

 

MANDATORY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Experience working within Financial Services and Banking as a Business Analyst OR Data Analyst

· Knowledge and experience in at least ONE of the following disciplines:

  • Business Process Design-redesign
  • Data Management
  • Data Controls Analysis
  • Metadata documentation

· Proven ability and track record in developing process flow diagrams/conducting business process mapping

· Good command of MS Office Suite

  • MS Word
  • MS Excel
  • MS Visio
  • MS Powerpoint

· Proven stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, the ability to run effective workshops

· Proven ability to produce structured functional documentation

· Excellent verbal and written Communication - the ability to communicate to a variety of audiences across business function and level and tailor messages appropriately in English

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Proven ability and track record in developing process flow diagrams/conducting process mapping

· Experience with Business Intelligence tooling

  • Tableau
  • Qlik
  • PowerBI
  • Google Looker

· Experience with Data Management Tooling

  • Collibra
  • AWS Studio
  • BigID

· Experience in BCBS239 and similar data-focused regulations will be considered to be an advantage

· Written and Spoken Cantonese or Mandarin will be considered to be an advantage
