About the role: Effective School Solutions (ESS) is looking to expand its capacity for training and developing its clinical and corporate staff and refining the onboarding process to ensure that staff have the adequate tools necessary to lead our clinical programming in our partner schools. Reporting to the SVP, People, the Director of Training and Onboarding will be responsible for creating training for staff with the goal of enhancing the program implementation as well as developing a learning pathway program for staff to grow in their respective specialty areas.  The ideal hire brings experience designing engaging and effective training for adult learners and setting the vision for scaling the training function at a growing company. This is a fully remote position with some travel (10-15%) to ESS’s home office in New Providence, NJ. There is strong preference for this person to live in one of our ESS regions.

Responsibilities:

Training

  • Develops and implements comprehensive training programs for new and existing clinicians, ensuring alignment with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to design and deliver training materials that enhance the skills and knowledge of our mental health clinicians
  • Refines learning resources including asynchronous courses, PowerPoint decks, and internal documentation to build ESS library of trainings
  • Implements top-tier, evidence-based trainings with a focus on the varying adult learning styles
  • Oversees creation and modification of clinical content in Relias (Learning Management System)
  • Oversees the compliance of staff assigned training and creates process to ensure completion of necessary training
  • Orchestrates our biannual Regional Director training retreat including leading the planning committee and supporting with logistics
  • Keeps abreast of regulations and standards necessary for our clinical staff and ensures that they have access to relevant required trainings
  • Maintains the training calendar for ESS and follows up with staff if they miss deadlines for required trainings
  • Supports staff to procure continuing education credits through the Relias platform and through research other continuing education credits courses
  • Leads ESS through process of becoming an approved CEU provider for licensed clinicians
  • Utilizes subject matter expert's materials into interactive trainings for the clinical staff
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through ongoing assessments and feedback mechanisms, making continuous improvements to meet organizational goals
  • Develops meaningful trainings connected to ESS’s culture and values
  • Travels to key geographies to deliver trainings in-person for high needs topics to staff, as needed

Employee Onboarding:

  • Designs and oversee a robust onboarding process for new hires, including orientation, job-specific training, and integration into the company culture.
  • Works closely with HR to ensure a seamless onboarding experience, covering aspects such as paperwork, benefits enrollment, and introduction to company policies.
  • Provides ongoing support and mentorship to new clinicians during their initial transition period
  • Manages new hire onboarding program and supports new hires and their line managers with onboarding process
  • Collaborates with People team to develop a robust, inclusive onboarding process for new clinical and corporate staff

Oversight of Clinical Supervision:

  • Establishes and maintains a system for clinical supervision, ensuring that all mental healthcare professionals receive appropriate guidance and support in their roles
  • Reviews and updates internal tracker to ensure all staff have a plan for clinical supervision in alignment with budget
  • Collaborates with senior clinical leadership to develop and implement supervision protocols that align with industry standards and ethical guidelines
  • Responds to and supports all clinical supervision concerns and questions
  • Conducts regular evaluations of clinical supervision practices, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Counseling).
  • Licensure as a mental health professional (e.g. Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor), required.
  • 5+ years of training and professional development leadership experience.
  • Expertise in leveraging technology to enhance adult learning.
  • Strong understanding of onboarding processes and best practices in the mental health industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
