Position Overview
We are seeking candidates with quantitative research experience, strong problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication, who enjoy working in a collaborative environment that also promotes individual initiative, innovation, and a smart risk-taking mindset.
The role of Senior Quantitative Strategist is to apply their quantitative expertise combined with practical knowledge of Portfolio Construction and Asset Allocation to enhance the quality of investment decisions taken at the fund as well as individual PM level.
In particular, Senior Quantitative Strategist is expected to play a key role in development of investment strategies that aim to maximize monetisation of alpha for the firm in aggregate.
Responsibilities:
- Implementation of quantitative trading strategies aiming to maximize alpha capture from internal idea generation.
- Lead original research into tradable signals based on PM behaviour.
- Articulate research findings and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders (CIO, Asset Class Heads, etc.,)
- Spearhead the development, testing, and implementation of advanced quantitative models to improve Portfolio Construction, Asset Allocation and Overlay Hedging.
- Collaborate with PMs to help them improve portfolio construction.
- Lead initiatives to improve the scalability and robustness of quantitative tools.
- Mentor junior researchers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in a hands-on quantitative research capacity.
- Masters, or PhD in a technical field.
- CQF qualification is a plus
- Experience developing and managing systematic investment strategies is a plus.
- Strong background in mathematics and statistics.
- Understanding of statistics (multi-variate regression, optimization) and financial mathematics (portfolio construction theory, performance measurement / attribution etc.)
- Must possess the ability to synthesize complex quantitative techniques into actionable and practical insights, bridging advanced analytical methods with strategic business decision-making.
- Good understanding of investment strategies across asset classes.
- Demonstrated ability to program in Python, with a strong background in data structures and algorithms.
- Experience working with back-end as well as front-end analytical systems including knowledge of data design and system architecture.
- Strong communication skills with a particular ability to explain analytical topics clearly to senior management and fundamental portfolio managers.
- Attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
