Soros Fund Management LLC (SFM) is a family office with approximately $28 billion in net assets under management. The majority of the assets are managed on behalf of the Open Society Foundations (OSF), which was founded by George Soros and is one of the largest charitable foundations in the world. OSF supports civil society groups across the world and promotes justice, human rights, democracy, education, public health, and independent media. SFM has approximately 200 employees and is headquartered in New York with offices in London, Dublin and Hong Kong. The majority of the assets are managed internally, and SFM can invest globally in a wide range of investment strategies and asset classes, including equities, credit, fixed income, macro and private equity.
Position Overview
This person will be responsible for developing credit-related investment ideas based on fundamental analysis of European companies. This comprises both long and short, public and private investments across different industries and asset classes (bonds, loans, CDS and equities). The role includes conducting primary research, creating and maintaining financial models, fundamental valuations of companies, generating investment memos, meeting with company management, attending industry conferences and presenting investable ideas.

Major Responsibilities
• Conducting fundamental research including financial modeling, generation of investment memos, company meetings, attending industry conferences, industry and market trend analyses and risk/reward analyses. (Some travel will be required.)
• Responsible for generating investable credit ideas and analyzing the ideas allocated by the PM.
• Assist in reviewing and negotiating key legal documents, including credit and equity financing agreements with internal and external counsel.
• Assist in managing and performing surveillance on existing investments, including updating models, analytics valuation and risk reports, reviewing investor reports and third-party research, and interacting with internal and external subject matter experts.
• Analysts are viewed as part of the larger SFM investment team and are expected to share insights with their colleagues internally by participating in update calls, meetings and through informal internal communications.
Requirements
• Relevant bachelor’s degree with excellent academic results.
• >4 years of total experience, including in M&A, restructuring or Leverage Finance sell-side experience and credit buy-side experience.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills and knowledge of financial statements
• Ability to analyze and model complex credit situations.
• Ability to participate in restructuring processes and navigate different restructuring regimes.
• Ability to participate in private deals, develop relationships with advisors and counterparties and negotiate key documentation.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
• Comfortable across the entire capital structure.
• Independent thinker, ability to defend non-consensus market views.

• Other European languages favored but not required.
