Givens Estates a nonprofit life plan community in Asheville NC and Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain, work to help our independent living residents that want to age with choices and remain in their home, where they’re most comfortable. As an In-Home Aide and Companion, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know your clients one-on-one, helping them live a healthy, happy and safe life at home. We’re looking for In-Home Aides and Companions to work morning shifts, 7am-3pm, with ability to flex and support both of our campuses.

What you'll do:

Offer companionship by joining clients on walks or accompanying them on visits
Assist and perform tasks delegated by Campus and Home Care nurses to support clients with their ADLs and IADLs
Assist Home Care clients with activities such as shopping, transportation to appointments and daily tasks that do not require extensive "hands on" care
Support clients with household management tasks, such as caring for their pets, closet organization, light housekeeping, etc.
Communicate changes in a resident’s condition to the nurse on duty
Maintain chart documentation, and utilize applicable software to do so
Always practice safety and infection control methods
Protect yourself with proper transfer and lift techniques
Maintain confidentiality and privacy of any PHI per HIPAA requirements
Participate in ongoing education and training offered by Givens and/or outside resources as required
Always practice within your scope of training, license and certification, whilst also adhering to all relevant and applicable policies and procedures
Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor

What you'll need:

High School or GED equivalent
Be at least 21 years of age
No evidence of exclusion from the OIG registry
Previous experience in home care, home health, geriatrics or LTC preferred, but not required
Must have at least 5 years of legal driving experience accompanied with a valid, unencumbered Driver's License
Must be willing to support both Givens Highland Farms and Givens Estates
Active CPR certificate or willingness to obtain with six months of joining the team

Compensation is $17.00-$18.00 per hour based on experience, plus a $1,000 sign-on bonus!
