Legend Biotech is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist as part of the Technical Operations team based in Somerset, NJ. 

Role Overview

This individual will work within Technical Operations and will be responsible for improving the end-to-end efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of the Source to Pay Procurement and Supplier Risk Management processes across all Legend Business Units across the US. Sr Procurement Specialist will provide high quality strategic spend analysis of key suppliers, and ad-hoc purchases. In addition, will assist with: Purchase Order (PO) life cycle – including creations, user troubleshooting, supplier records creation (e.g., W-9, ACH, Qualification Assessments, etc.), maintenance of supplier records within S/4 HANA (SAP), and monitoring of contract compliance activities. Senior Procurement Specialist / will develop best Sourcing & Procurement practices and standards, implementing the foundation of the Procurement CoE (Center of Excellence): Policy & Procedures, Supplier Relationship Management, Category Management, Systems and Supplier Development & Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Assist with the coordination of the Procurement Supplier Qualification Assessment (SQA) process and underlying SME assessments (e.g., Finance, Privacy, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Cybersecurity, Quality).
  • Backup to P2P Specialist, assist with Purchase Order (PO) life cycle – monitor and maintenance of Purchase Requisitions (PR) / Purchase Orders (PO) and oversight of materials / services deliveries.
  • Responsible for management, administration, communication, and updates of Legend’s Third-Party Risk management tool, including management of procedure, requirements and training.
  • Oversee assessments workflow and ensure quality of risk management activities in collaboration with functional SME’s.
  • Liaise with the Sourcing & Procurement team and Data Lead on maintaining preferred and approved suppliers list.
  • Drive the development of the Sourcing and Category Management framework in support of Procurement functional strategy.
  • Support and maintain tools, dashboard, and procedures for overarching Procurement framework.
  • Oversee contract compliance and periodic reporting to the Procurement and TechOps LT.
  • Provide training to other functional groups to ensure appropriate awareness and adoption of Procurement policies and procedures, as it relates to their functions.
  • Provide timely responses to business units’ representative(s) and suppliers inquiries with respect to risks identified.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of spend analysis, supplier performance metrics (ASQCI) and risk management/mitigation strategies.
  • Act as major collaboration champion for Procurement processes standardization across all Legend sites.
  • Responsible for implementing foundational base of the Procurement CoE.
  • Establish key stakeholder relationships with internal and external (Suppliers, Consulting Firms, etc.) stakeholders. Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and across regions.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years relevant Sourcing / Procurement consulting experience is preferred. Process management, Lean Six Sigma and Project management required.
  • Develop and drive transformation processes and projects, oversee milestones and timelines and proactively secure execution in timely manner.
  • Ability to lead through change and ambiguity effectively in a fast-paced and start-up environment.
  • Ability to train other functional groups to ensure appropriate awareness of procurement policies and procedures, as it relates to their functions.
  • Strong program management acumen with ability to develop new processes, gain stakeholder buy in, influence, promote collaboration, balance priorities and change, build consensus and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and across different functions.
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to quickly adopt and implement new systems and processes, with strong focus on SAP P2P.
  • Ability to work independently and successfully, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, integrate cross-functional issues and balance competing priorities effectively. Must be able to manage shifting priorities to meet critical deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic, growing environment.
  • Strong in communicating and collaborating effectively with broad stakeholders in various scientific/technical/business disciplines.
  • Ability to promote a mindset of continuous improvement, problem solving, risk management and prevention.
