The Phillies are in search of a qualified part-time EFL Instructor to support English language initiatives at the Phillies Academy in Boca Chica. The successful candidate will be dedicated to ensuring our players thrive in their professional and personal lives through language education. Under the supervision of the LSE Coordinator and in close collaboration with the rest of the LSE tam, the part-time instructor will conduct classes, create lesson plans in adherence to the Phillies EFL curriculum, evaluate players’ progress and needs, and foster an overall positive educational environment.
Essential Functions:
Develop creative and engaging lesson plans focused on speaking, listening, reading, writing, and specialized baseball vocabulary
Utilize technology in the classroom and as a tool for continued learning
Conduct pre and post testing to assess students’ needs, evaluate progress, and identify individual learning objectives
Maintain attendance records, student progress reports, and up-to-date lesson plans; submit required reports in a timely manner
Qualifications and Requirements:
2-3 years’ experience teaching ESL, TESOL, or related subject
Fluency in English
Strong computer skills a must
Experience teaching non-traditional, adult, or out-of-school youth students
Experience teaching occupation-specific language skills a plus
Knowledge of baseball a plus
