Position: Associate Hitting Development Analyst
Department: Baseball Development
Reports to: Hitting Development Analyst
Location: Clearwater, FL
Job Status: Temporary Seasonal

Position Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Hitting Department’s development, implementation, and tracking of individual player development plans. The position should promote cross-departmental integration and facilitate consistent communication between coordinators, coaches, and players.  

Responsibilities

  • Support player plan tracking and management via resources made available from various departments (including but not limited to: Baseball Development, Research & Development, Integrative Baseball Performance, Player Development)
  • Provide support to hitting development analyst regarding performance analysis and overall progress of individual development plans
  • Support player-facing Exit Meetings through creation and presentation of supplemental materials
  • Disseminate daily post-game reports and curate leaderboards for affiliate coaches, players, and front office staff
  • Ad hoc player analysis for hitters inside or outside the organization

Required Qualifications

  • Some working experience with a professional, collegiate, or other high-level baseball organization. This may include experience as an intern or graduate assistant.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication and presentation skills
  • Strong foundational knowledge in modern baseball analysis and evaluation
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, holidays and weekends as needed
  • Available to work through the conclusion of the 2024 season
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL, R, and/or Python is strongly preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Statistical modeling experience
  • Comfortable working in an on-field setting; basic baseball coaching skills (throwing BP, hitting fungos) is a plus
