As regulations of the medical sector become increasingly strict in the European Union, health institutions, such as hospitals and laboratories struggle to maintain compliance due to a lack of knowledge and resources. This bears the risk of pushing small laboratories out of business and reducing the overall offering in diagnostics, ultimately resulting in a reduced health care quality for patients.

At Platomics, we address this problem by creating products that tap into an existing ecosystem and make complying with a wide range of regulations fast and easy.

Your contributions will directly impact the lives of millions of individuals by ensuring that treatments and laboratory analyses especially for rare diseases can remain available.

We are looking for a Senior Account Executive to join us on this journey.

The Role


As a Senior Account Executive at Platomics you will:

  • Be responsible for full cycle sales with mid-size to enterprise clients; from lead generation identifying and gaining new business on a technological platform to negotiating and closing deals
  • Contribute to commercial business plans to reach goals and quotas
  • Create presentations of our product for trade shows and new clients. Limited travel is required
  • Maintain a database of clients, prospects, partners, and vendors with our CRM
  • Stay current with company offerings and industry trends
  • Chance to grow into a leadership role

As a distributed team, we aim to create opportunities for people to work to their full potential whether that is in our headquarters in Vienna, Austria or in a remote location. The role is open to applicants based anywhere in Europe.

What you bring to the table


  • Over 5 years of experience in an Account Executive/new business role
  • Understanding of the healthcare sector with a focus on molecular technologies and diagnostics
  • Firm background in biology or bioinformatics  
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts while seeking new opportunities
  • Understand client needs and negotiate costs and services
  • Proficiency with CRM software and an aptitude for learning new systems
  • Advanced experience in negotiation and closing deals
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and prospects (maximum 20%)

Nice-to-Have

  • Proficiency in other languages than English, particularly German and French
  • Prior experience in regulated environments like Quality Management, Regulatory Affairs, and familiarity with standards such as EU IVDR, MDR, FDA, ISO 13485, etc.
