PublicRelay is looking for a Team Lead with at least three years of management experience to head a group of media analysts in our Tysons, VA, office. Team Leads play a vital role in our organization by managing media analysts with the expectation to train and develop the analysts on their team, assist with resource management, ensure accurate and quality work, and promote career development.

Successful candidates will have experience managing teams in a professional, hybrid setting – in-person and virtual environments – be highly analytical, self-motivated, and demonstrate the ability to manage situations and people under pressure to support daily client deliverables; they will possess a mix of intelligence and interpersonal skills which allow them to build relationships with their teams and various internal departments.

Ideal candidates, in addition to above, will have experience managing teams and large projects with a growing company and will be relied upon to manage and motivate a high-performing team independently with limited oversight and management; they will be exceptionally organized and efficient with the ability to prioritize tasks and communication with our teams across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of analysts including coordinating analyst schedules and coverage, delegating assignments, lining up training, providing feedback and coaching, and supervising multiple, larger, and/or ad hoc projects as needed
  • Oversee analyst workflows and accountability to optimize talent and efficiency while ensuring deadlines are met
  • Evaluate analyst performance on a quarterly basis that assists in short-term skill development and long-term career planning
  • Build and foster an engaged and inclusive team culture of accountability, positivity, collaboration, resiliency, timeliness, communication, and goal-orientation
  • Develop and execute processes for checking the accuracy and quality of analyst work
  • Maintain records and documentation of analyst development, programs, communication, and workstreams
  • Collaborate with analysts, other team leads, senior and business operations, reporting specialists, strategic partnership team members, and sales among others to ensure flawless execution of client programs

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS, in an analytically rigorous area of study
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing a team in a business setting
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage resources and multiple projects at once under tight deadlines
  • Located in or open to relocating to the Tysons, VA, metropolitan area with the ability to be in office 2-3 days per week

 Nice to Haves

  • A background in media or communications sector
  • Experience in organizational change management and scaling
  • A passion for reading the news and staying up to date with current events
