Scribe Therapeutics is a molecular engineering company focused on creating best-in-class in vivo therapies that permanently treat the underlying cause of disease. We are seeking a highly creative, passionate, and motivated individual to join us in our quest to develop the next generation of CRISPR-based therapeutics. The current role is for an Associate Director or Director of Procurement to join our team and advance our platform. The candidate should have a passion for working collaboratively with biologists and bioengineers to enable building the necessary tools for meeting the new frontier of CRISPR-based therapeutics. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the order management process from order requisition through to goods receipt ensuring purchases are in compliance with company policies and relevant controls
  • Develop strategic supplier relationships in order to manage critical supply chain risks as well as identifying opportunities for cost reduction strategies 
  • Negotiate agreements and contracts with key vendors in the pre-clinical research, lab consumables and clinical development functions
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, research and development teams in the review of contracts and agreements with suppliers
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders in finance, legal, research and development teams in negotiating pricing, managing vendor relationships and ensuring continuity of supply
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts as well as track and report on key purchasing metrics 
  • Drive process improvements in the purchasing and procurement cycle, and proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies in company operations
  • Lead and conduct purchasing trainings to new employees as well as provide update training where necessary
  • Effectively collaborate with members within a fully integrated team to facilitate execution on projects within established timelines
  • Foster a driven, fast-paced, dynamic, and fun environment in which to do rigorous science

Preferred or Required Skills and Background:

  • Bachelors’ degree required, preferably in a related field such as supply chain management, operations or genetic engineering
  • At least 10 years of experience working in Supply Chain or Procurement management in the Pharma or Biotechnology industry 
  • Demonstrated expertise in vendor management, onboarding, contract reviews and purchase negotiations
  • Previous success achieving savings and negotiating purchase agreements 
  • Extensive understanding of activities related to the preclinical and clinical development of biopharmaceuticals
  • Expertise in procurement systems and purchasing requirements, knowledge of NetSuite preferred
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research team

At the time of posting, the base pay wage range for this role is $175,000-230,000 per year.  The offered pay range will depend on internal equity and the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, training, and market data.  Additional incentives are provided as part of the complete package in addition to comprehensive medical and other benefits.
