Scribe Therapeutics is a molecular engineering company focused on creating best-in-class in vivo therapies that permanently treat the underlying cause of disease. We are seeking a highly creative, passionate, and motivated individual to join us in our quest to develop the next generation of CRISPR-based therapeutics. The current role is for a Senior Research Associate, Molecular Engineering to join our team and advance our platform. The candidate should have a passion for working collaboratively with biologists and bioengineers to enable building the necessary tools for meeting the new frontier of CRISPR-based therapeutics. Additionally, the candidate would bring expertise in molecular biology and cell culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the engineering team to screen and characterize CRISPR molecules to advance activity, specificity, and novel functionality
  • Execute the necessary molecular biology, tissue culture, biological assays, and related data processing and analysis
  • Help the team design and execute hypothesis-driven and properly controlled studies and analyze data
  • Effectively collaborate with members within a fully integrated team to facilitate execution on projects within established timelines
  • Effectively present data and communicate research plans and timelines to the core team
  • Foster a driven, fast-paced, dynamic, and fun environment in which to do rigorous science

Required Skills and Background:

  • A BS/BA in Bioengineering, Cell or Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, or related discipline
  • 3-5+ years wet lab research experience & previous industry experience required
  • High level of proficiency in mammalian cell culture (transfection, gDNA harvest, cell line generation), flow cytometry, and high throughput workflows
  • Experience with NGS library prep

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research team

Preferred Skills and Background:

  • Post-graduate studies are a plus
  • Experience with CRISPR-Cas gene editing systems and delivery technology desired
  • Experience with pooled screening techniques
  • Experience with lentiviral transduction and mRNA transfection
  • Familiarity with protein or RNA structure and engineering approaches

At the time of posting, the base pay wage range for this role is $80,000-110,000 per year.  The offered pay range will depend on internal equity and the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, training, and market data.  Additional incentives are provided as part of the complete package in addition to comprehensive medical and other benefits.
