Job Description

As Director, Product Marketing, you will lead our team in creating and executing all facets of multi-channel, Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies for our industry leading and highly-awarded enterprise hardware and software products. You’ll analyze and develop pricing & packaging strategies that are attractive to customers, but also drive revenue for the business. You’ll also play a key role in crafting the vision for Product Marketing Management (PMM) as we continue to scale and mature as a department and company. Lastly, we are seeking an experienced product marketer who can be a strategic leader for the department, but is also not afraid to jump in and operate tactically since we are a smaller team. In this role, you will report to and work closely with our VP, Product Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the overarching strategic vision for PMM alongside our Vice President, influencing high-level decision-making and shaping the future direction of the department. Share a clear and compelling vision with key stakeholders.
  • Strategize and execute GTM plans: support launches of new products, features, and releases across multiple channels highlighting new value created for users. 
  • Establish and track performance analytics to measure impact of GTM launches.
  • Enablement and content creation: develop compelling product messaging and materials that position SmartRent as the leading smart home and property operations solutions provider in the space. Enable and excite the internal teams, most notably sales and account management, with crucial sales tools and training that allows them to be effective in their role.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to develop a pricing and packaging strategy to maximize ARR and increase profit margins for hardware products.
  • Leverage data to develop clear strategy, decision frameworks and KPIs to effectively empower your team to move fast with impact.
  • Collaborate and interact regularly with product management, sales/account management, marketing, and other key stakeholders to stay updated on the latest business initiatives, customer feedback, and market trends.
  • Collaborate and prioritize product roadmaps with the product leadership. 
  • Deliver key data-driven business insights to leadership, work with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities that drive business / product strategy.
  • Supervise a team of product marketers focused on competitive analysis, win/loss analysis, pricing/packaging, market analysis, content marketing, enablement, and product launches.
  • Drive the team in the creation of processes, best practices, tool kits that deliver on the PMM vision and align with company goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related technical field and 10 years of experience in marketing/product marketing management OR a combination of education and relevant work experience equivalency including managerial experience.
  • Proven experience building and managing a best-in-class product marketing organization, including strategizing and executing GTM plans.
  • Successful track record of collaboration with key stakeholders across product management and sales functions.
  • Savvy communicator who can distill complex concepts into clear and compelling messaging. An excellent B2B storyteller and presenter.
  • Ability to be a strategic leader as well as roll up sleeves to operate tactically.
  • Intellectually curious, empathetic, and driven to solve hard problems.
  • World-class written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with Hive, Hubspot, Intercom, JIRA, Confluence, Tutorial, Showpad, Figma, Salesforce, or similar systems.
  • Must be passionate about the business with a constant desire to learn more and improve the user experience!
