Our Opportunity

Join our dynamic IDE Engineering team and be a key member of Snyk’s mission to fix security vulnerabilities at the source! Each year, the number of vulnerabilities discovered increases, resulting in the need for all developers to become more security conscious and better equipped with tooling so they can spend more time building, not just fixing.

Snyk’s IDE plugins enable tens of thousands of users to identify vulnerabilities, review fix advice, and confidently deliver more secure applications from wherever they code. As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to build the future of how developers worldwide build their applications.

We are looking for a highly experienced engineer with a passion for creative problem solving and a knack for leadership. You will contribute to our plugins to help elevate the developer experience, evolve our Go Language Server, and support our services in a distributed environment. You will also have the opportunity to foster a collaborative and diverse environment, while leveraging the latest development methodologies.

We support plugins for VS Code, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, and Eclipse. If you are comfortable programming in Golang and Typescript, and are excited about developer tooling, we’d love to meet you!

You’ll Spend Your Time:

Shaping our product and guiding the team on work which spans multiple components and teams.
Addressing design ambiguity by ensuring comprehension through analysis and clarification.
Actively contributing code, prototyping and developing testing strategies with a bias for action, and focusing on iterative delivery.
Collaborating on pair programming and code reviews, working with others in both synchronous and asynchronous settings.
Innovating through strategic design improvements that deliver both short-term gains and long-term competitive advantages.
Leading by example and fostering an environment of inclusion and growth through pairing, feedback and mentoring.
Collaborating with Product and Design teams to understand key requirements and translate them into functional features.
Working with teams across Snyk to ensure consistent developer experience for all of Snyk’s products.

What You’ll Need:

10+ years developing features in multiple tech stacks, including both TypeScript and Go
High standards for code quality, testing, and iterative, continuous delivery
A desire to delight and empower fellow developers, coupled with a strong sense of empathy for their challenges
Demonstrable track record of project leadership
The ability to talk about complex technical concepts in ways that make it easy for others to understand

We’d be Lucky if You:

Experience developing IDE plugins, preferably for VS Code
Have strong focus around validation and high product reliability
Have prior experience in cybersecurity, AI, or other developer tooling
Are familiar with packaged software architecture and deployment strategies
