Job Overview:
The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for connecting the world to lifelong transformative learning. They also work to shape public conversations on the future of education and work. The team is segmented into four areas of focus: Consumer Marketing, Enterprise Marketing, Brand & Creative, and Communications. The team is currently focused on expanding the reach of Coursera’s brand and bringing new learners to the site, connecting students to degree programs, attracting new enterprise customers — including businesses, governments, and campuses — and creating a marketing system that nurtures learners throughout their professional lives.
As Degree Marketing Manager, you will partner with Degree Marketing Associates and cross functional teams to manage successful recruitment cycles and achieve cohort goals for our certificate and degree programs, while contributing to new initiatives and strategies for the future success of these programs. With guidance from the Director of Marketing, you will develop effective marketing plans for each program, manage execution of all tactics, monitor performance and provide updates to internal and external teams. You will serve as the marketing point of contact with our university partners to collaborate on marketing initiatives, provide performance updates and make recommendations to advance enrollment growth.
This is an impactful role for the growth and success of our certificate and degree programs and helping shape the future of higher education. The right candidate will feel comfortable working in a lean, performance-driven environment while maintaining a strong sense of team and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the marketing and recruitment strategy for a portfolio of degree programs
- Partner with university marketing teams to share learnings, track progress against cohort goals, coordinate and execute comprehensive marketing plans, and ideate on new ways to engage potential students. Occasional travel required.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to create and optimize program messaging, email automations, onsite and on-platform discovery tactics, content marketing blogs and social media content
- Own the email communication strategy to nurture potential degree learners from discovery through application
- Monitor performance data and determine necessary actions to impact funnel metrics to reach targets
- Partner with other Marketing team members to drive new learner acquisition for degrees via PR, SEO, affiliate marketing, paid marketing, content marketing, social media, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience in a marketing role for a high consideration product
- Demonstrated experience owning, developing and executing marketing plans to achieve target metrics
- Experience developing personas, effective product messaging, communication strategies, and funnel nurturing strategies
- Experience working with external clients or partners
- Experience with monitoring and analyzing marketing and sales performance data
- Experience with collaborating and partnering with cross functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education or edtech
- Demonstrated history developing marketing expertise and is starting to be seen as a leader on the team

Compensation:
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between 85,000 to 121,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
