takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Financial Accountant (TDT) to join our team in Cape Town. This role reports to the Financial Manager - Logistics.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Serve as a finance business partner to the Takealot Delivery Team (TDT) and Takealot Franchisee Network
- Supports the co-ordination and preparation of Takealot Logistics budgets, financial forecasts, scenario planning and actual vs budget cost tracking
- Recommendation and implementation of financial processes, improvement measures and Internal Control procedures.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Continuous improvement of TDT and the Franchise Network reporting, automation of reporting and building robust financial models and processes that aid decision making
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including the Franchise Network, on project initiatives, costs analysis, SOP implementation etc.
- TDT month end reporting. Preparation of delivery cost and revenue calculations, approval of invoices, posting of accruals. Investigating and reporting on variances, performance indicators, trends and financial ratios
- Preparing & reviewing of monthly Balance Sheet recons
- Manage internal purchases and sales TDT operating stock and assets provided to Franchisees and owned network facilities
- TDT expense and cost centre allocation and purchase order approval management and tracking
- Managing junior staff
- Ad hoc tasks, as required by senior management

Qualifications and Experience:
- B.Comm Accounting/ Finance. B.Comm. Logistics specialisation is beneficial
- CA(SA) / CIMA beneficial
- 1-3 years’ experience in a retail / logistics environment beneficial
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheet skills
