We are seeking a proficient Cloud Network and Security Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the optimization and fortification of our cloud infrastructure.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and secure network architectures on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based applications and services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage secure cloud network architectures on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
  • Deploy and configure networking services such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, and Cloud CDN to optimize application delivery and performance.
  • Implement network security controls and policies to protect cloud resources, data, and communication channels. This includes firewall rules, IAM permissions, encryption, and network segmentation.
  • Monitor network traffic and performance metrics, proactively identifying and mitigating security threats, vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to automate network provisioning, configuration, and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
  • Participate in incident response and troubleshooting activities, ensuring timely resolution of network-related issues and minimizing service downtime.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and GCP security features to continuously enhance cloud network architecture and security posture.

 

Requirements:

Education: Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 8+ years of experience in network engineering or cloud security roles, with a focus on designing and securing cloud infrastructures.

 

Required Skills:

  • Cloud Platform Proficiency: Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and hands-on experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including compute, storage, networking, and security services. Expertise in Cloud Armor, Security command center is mandatory
  • Network Architecture: Proficiency in designing and implementing secure and scalable cloud network architectures, including VPC design, subnetting, routing, and network segmentation.
  • Security Controls: Solid understanding of cloud security principles, best practices, and compliance requirements. Experience implementing security controls such as firewall rules, IAM policies, encryption, and identity management on GCP.
  • Networking Technologies: In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, SSL/TLS, and DDoS mitigation techniques.
  • Automation and Scripting: Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proficiency in monitoring cloud network traffic and performance using tools like Stackdriver, Cloud Monitoring, or Prometheus. Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve network issues efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex network issues and propose practical solutions.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and timelines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud security frameworks, regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR), and industry best practices in cloud network design and security.
  • Certifications: Candidates with GCP Professional Cloud Network Engineer certification are highly preferred
