Wood Rodgers is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Geotechnical Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will support our geotechnical projects and work under the guidance of our Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
What you will be doing
- Assist in the development of project proposals and bids.
- Assist in the planning and execution of geotechnical investigations and soil testing.
- Analyze soil samples and prepare geotechnical reports.
- Work with computer-aided design (Microsoft Office, CAD) software to create project schematics.
- Collaborate with project teams to design foundations, retaining structures, civil improvements, and provide earthwork recommendations.
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geological engineering, or a related field.
- 0-5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related field.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel etc.).
- Familiarity with geotechnical software such as gINT and Slide.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
